Set Up Your Cash Drawer
The drawer plugs into the receipt printer, not the computer. The printer pops it open every time a cash sale prints a receipt.
The three connections

Flip the printer over. Skip the network / LAN port.

Test it
Ring any item, pay Cash. Receipt prints, drawer pops.

Wire it up in 4 steps
- Plug the RJ-12 cable into the printer's Cash Drawer port.
- Plug the other end into the port underneath the drawer.
- Ring a Cash sale. The receipt prints and the drawer pops.
- Load your float, set per store in Admin › Locations.
Two facts to keep
Cash & check only
Card sales never pop the drawer, by design. And the printer has to be set up first, no printer, no pop.
Drawer won't pop? The cable is directional. Check the right port (Cash Drawer, not LAN), a firm click on both ends, and that the labeled ends are not reversed. That's almost always the fix.
Two registers, one drawer? Works fine, as long as both stations print to the same receipt printer. One printer, one drawer. Want a drawer per station? Give each its own printer.
