Buy it one way, sell it another, and let the price follow along. Set one product up in three steps.

Every way you sell
The store-wide list of units you count in.
Admin → Product → Units of measure

How you stock it
Every product has one base unit.
Base unit = your stocking unit

How you sell vs stock
The step that does the real work.

Step 3, in order
- On Inventory, turn on Allow decimal quantities. Do this first.
- On Settings → Units of measure, open Unit conversions and describe each selling unit against your stocking unit.
- In Defaults, give each unit its job, then Save.
The caulk example
1 EA = 0.0417 CS
One tube is one of twenty-four in a case. Stock & order by the Case; price, sell & transfer by the Each.
Price it once: set the price on any one unit and, because every unit is linked back to your stocking unit, the rest price themselves. No math at the counter, and no need to unlink anything.
